School Holiday Fun
School holidays, loved by some and dreaded by many.
If the words ‘Mum, I’m bored’ have you reaching for your earplugs, fear not, here’s some school holiday activities that could help fill a day or two.
Take a day trip to Bribie and head for the beach or enjoy a picnic in one of the many parks across the region.
Hit the bike paths with some pedal power or grab a fishing rod and tackle the creeks, rivers and other waterways across our great region.

-Head along to the Abbey Museum in Caboolture and get lost in a world of history.
- SHAFT (School Holiday Activities for Teenagers) is a program introduced by Moreton Bay Regional Council for students who reside in or attend high school in the Moreton Bay region. The exciting range of activities are subsidised by council, making them more affordable and accessible for students. So if you're attending high school in 2014 and live or attend high school in the Moreton Bay Region you can participate in any of the SHAFT holiday activities.

Take your pick from the beautiful beaches of Bribe Island, swimming pools, the Redcliffe Lagoon or even South Bank Parklands.
-Get in touch with the animal kingdom
Head along to Australia Zoo and check out animals from far and wide including the big crocs.
- Active Kids Park Sessions
Come along and have some fun in the Active Kids School Holiday Park Sessions. These activities have been designed to encourage children to get outside and active in their local parks. The sessions are completely free with no prior bookings required, run in a non-competitive atmosphere with a focus on fun games for everyone to enjoy.

-Queensland’s Gallery of Modern Art
Yayoi Kusama’s The obliteration room is just one of many exhibitions that will keep your kids entertained these school holidays.
-On the Stage at QPAC
Take your pick of entertaining shows including Giggle and Hoot and Friends. Jimmy Giggle, Hoot and Hootabelle who will be setting off on a giggle-icious live stage adventure with their friends the Bananas in Pyjamas and Hoopla Doopla's Zap, Mimi and Jango.
-For those rainy or super hot days the movies could be another option
There’s Aussie World, Underwater World, Dreamworld, Movieworld, Seaworld, you get the picture.
-But if staying at home is more your thing…
Get crafty and make cards, paint pictures, write stories or even record family movies together, the only thing that will limit you is your imagination.
