Sanity Saving Tips for Christmas Shopping
Ready or not Christmas is fast approaching.
But if the idea of getting ready for the big day fills you with dread, don’t hit the panic button just yet.
There might only be a month left but if you haven’t started shopping yet, here’s a few tips to get you through this hectic time of year.
Get in early - Christmas shopping and crowds aren’t always everyone’s favourite combination so start shopping now to avoid the big crowds in coming weeks.
Write a list and make sure you check it twice, you don’t want to forget anyone and have to go back to the shops!
Budget - Pick an amount you want to spend and stick to it. You don’t want to blow all your money on one present.
Research - Know your prices and shop around (if you have time). Better yet check the catalogues in your letter box to see if you can get the best price.
If you’re really not sure what to buy, ask people for a few ideas on what they want. Arm yourself with options so you’re not buying a wasted present.
Go alone and go with a plan - avoid taking the kids if you can so you don’t end up buying more than you need.
Get crafty - make some gifts at home, everyone loves a gift with a bit of heartfelt effort.
Share the burden - we might all like to consider ourselves superheroes, but don’t try to do it all yourself! Ask your partner, parents or even siblings to help with present shopping and preparation for the big day.
Prepare for each Christmas in advance by utilising mid year or after Christmas sales.
Last but not least, if you prefer to avoid the crazy, busy shopping centres, shop online and have it all delivered right to your door.
